Holiday: Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day

A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival skill except for learning how to grow in rows. - Doug Larson

Murdock sat on his couch, staring out the window. He wasn't feeling down, actually. A little unsettled. It had been a couple of weeks since he said goodbye to the little guy. He'd wanted to check on him before now, but Face had insisted they deal with that prince. Hannibal had agreed with him, so that settled that. It was a lot of money, plus he got to fly a really cool jet provided by said prince. BA hadn't been to happy to wake up in Saudi Arabia, but that was just par for the course.

They'd had a few bumps along the road. The prince and his people hadn't been fond of Murdock at all. It had taken some strong words from Hannibal to a) convince the prince not to lock up Murdock and his 'demons', and b) convince Murdock to keep his eccentricities under control when around the prince and his entourage. That only meant that BA got a little more of Murdock being Murdock when it was just the team around.

They discovered that camels could indeed be really nasty creatures. And sudden sandstorms could be more dangerous than a band of angry bedouins. And kidnapped wives didn't necessarily want to return to a husband who already had more than he could handle. Especially when they got to know Face. Which cost them some of those riyals to keep Face in one piece. But they still completed their mission, and they could afford a nice relaxing cruise home. Well, except for BA, who still had to deal with Murdock's attempts to catch up with those 'eccentricities'.

But Murdock was now back at the VA, and Richter had him under closer supervision (disappearing for almost two weeks will do that), and so he sat on his couch and worried about the little guy.

Until the mail arrived with a large envelope for Murdock. Inside was an 8x10 photo of the little guy (who wasn't so little anymore), and a note from Face (aka Cousin Winston) saying that they were keeping an eye out so nothing untoward happened to their 'ward'.

Yes, it had been a hectic and sometimes harrowing two weeks, but...

Murdock was home, the little guy was fine, and all was right with his world.
