My body has certainly wandered a good deal, but I have an uneasy suspicion that my mind has not wandered enough. - Noel Coward

"BA, you really need to take it easy on Murdock. He might get a complex."

Hannibal grinned and sauntered off toward their latest motel room. BA glared after him before slamming the wrench back into the toolbox.

There were some days BA could deal with Murdock. This wasn't one of them. Three days on the road, Decker turning up every time they thought it was safe...

BA sighed. That wasn't what did it though. It was watching those kids running after Murdock. Nuts. They were all nuts, tilting their arms and ducking around the bushes and trees. Laughing. Murdock grinning from ear to ear, shouting crazy stories about flying as they tore all over the place.

BA liked kids. Kids liked BA. But he couldn't do that stuff. He was the big brother, the substitute father, the protector. He wasn't... fun.

Some days, he wondered if he even could be.
